Assistant Finance Manager – 12 month FTC Join Tarmac, a leading construction company, as an Assistant Finance Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This hybrid role reports directly to the Reporting Finance Manager and supports the wider finance business. Responsibilities Produce monthly management information within agreed timescales. Ensure accurate SOX‑compliant financial data is fed into the month‑end close process and reported to the business. Assist with the preparation and production of budget and forecasting models. Build relationships with the FP&A team to ensure timely submissions of weekly forecasts, budgets and outlooks for the National Businesses portfolio. Support smooth capital investment processes by providing accurate GRN forecasting, loading projects to the Capex portal, reviewing capital closure forms and leading quarterly SOX capital WIP reviews. Lead the lease process for National Businesses, ensuring accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting and reconciliations to the lease register. Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and associated analysis. Liaise with internal stakeholders to maintain consistent and correct adherence to product line, TBP and organisational policies and procedures. Assist the finance function in proactively improving internal controls. Develop positive relationships with site staff, finance teams, and internal/external auditors. Deliver ad‑hoc financial reporting and analysis as required. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function. Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Finance Manager or team. Qualifications & Experience Studying towards, or willingness to study towards, a recognised accounting qualification. Experience working within a finance team (desirable). Proven track record in handling data and producing reports. Experience working to strict deadlines. Experience working with a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrable Excel skills. Self‑driven and ambitious. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Excellent communicator. SAP/BW experience desirable.
