We’re looking for a proactive, customer-focused individual to manage inbound enquiries, qualify leads, and help drive our commercial growth. In this office-based role, you’ll be the vital link between clients and our operational teams - delivering excellent service, supporting sales targets, and collaborating across departments. You will be accountable for delivering sales KPIs relevant to this role, growing sales amongst smaller customers, and supporting the Outside Sales team to achieve associated sales targets. If you’re organised, motivated, and eager to make an impact in environmental testing services, we’d love to hear from you Main Responsibilities Inbound Sales & Quotation Handling Respond promptly to inbound sales enquiries via phone and email Qualify leads and gather necessary information to prepare quotations Generate and issue accurate quotations in a timely manner Follow up on quotations and track conversion outcomes Customer Relationship Management Maintain regular communication with prospective and existing clients Provide excellent customer service and resolve queries efficiently Support external sales team with client insights and updates Liaise with laboratory, operations, and technical teams to ensure feasibility of services Coordinate with colleagues to ensure smooth handover of new business Assist in the preparation of tender documents and commercial proposals Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system (Salesforce) such as recording and assigning leads, opportunity and quotation tracking. Support the sales team with administrative tasks and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Number of quotations issued per week/month Quotation win rate Lead qualification rate (percentage of enquiries deemed viable) Follow-up rate on issued quotations CRM Accuracy: Completeness and timeliness of data entry in Microsoft Dynamics. Experience Background in inside sales, customer service, or sales support, ideally within a technical or scientific environment. Experience handling inbound enquiries and managing client relationships is essential. Technical Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics). Able to issue quotations, manage sales data, and support reporting tasks. Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner. Capable of engaging with clients and internal teams effectively. Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, qualify leads, and contribute to sales growth. Experience in upselling, cross-selling, and reactivating lapsed customers is desirable. Education A good level of secondary education to include GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English LOCATION: Consett, County Durham WORKING PATTERN: Mon – Fri (0900-1700) COMPANY BENEFITS: Company funded 1% benefit allowance, 2 wellbeing days, pension, enhanced parental leave, 28 days holiday, bank holidays.
