Overview Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital ICU Technical Services provides the Technical Support Service to Critical Care comprising of Adult Intensive Care Unit (one of the largest in Europe), Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care and High Dependency Units. These units have a worldwide reputation for clinical excellence in tertiary care provision. Responsibilities Maintain all medical equipment within high‑tech critical care areas, including teaching, training and testing. Calibrate equipment and perform physiological measurements. Assist in diagnostic procedures and support Point of Care devices. Work nights, weekend shifts and support clinical teams. Qualifications Relevant work experience as a medical technologist. Degree in a relevant science subject (or equivalent experience). Major interest in instrumentation and technology. STP registration preferred but not required for trainee role. Training & Progression Trainee applicants from recent graduates in a Physiological science background are welcomed. Training under Annex 21 leads to senior band 6 after 1‑2 years of consolidation and competency log book completion. Training salary is a percentage of the top of Band 6: 75 % of the pay band maximum for up to 12 months prior to completion of training; 70 % for more than one but less than two years prior to completion.
