As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our team.This is a key role for a motivated practitioner who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping staff deliver inclusive, high-quality learning opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the identification, planning, and support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted support strategiesWork closely with parents, carers, external professionals, and agencies to ensure coordinated care and early interventionGuide and support colleagues in implementing inclusive practicesMonitor children’s progress and ensure accurate documentation and records are maintainedContribute to and deliver staff training related to SEND and inclusionEnsure compliance with current SEND legislation and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)Essential RequirementsLevel 3 qualification (or higher) in Childcare/Early YearsSubstantial experience supporting children with SEND in an early years settingStrong working knowledge of:Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)Portage and other early intervention strategiesThe SEND Code of PracticeExperience liaising with external professionals (e.g. health visitors, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists)Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skillsAbility to mentor and support a team in inclusive, child-centred practiceDesirableSENCO qualification or training (or willingness to undertake it)What We OfferSalary based on qualifications and experienceSupportive, inclusive, and welcoming team environmentOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesA well-resourced nursery with a focus on high-quality provisionAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATIONAll applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policyYour CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explainedYou must have legal right to work in the UKYou must be willing to attend a registration interviewVeritas Education works with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area.
