General Practice Dispenser required for busy multi site progressive general practice. Will work across 2 sites in rural Gravesham - at Istead Rise and Shorne Village Surgeries.Main duties of the jobNormal dispensary duties, taking, processing and fulfilling prescription requests including dispensing medications to 2000 patients across the sites. Repeat prescription work for non dispensing patients. Stock ordering, maintaining, rotating. Dealing with patients regarding medication and queries.About usProgressive forward thinking general practice, friendly team, family atmosphere. Safe and efficient preparation anddispensing of prescriptions and providing a good standard of service to thepatients in line with directives laid down by the partners and practice managerOverall job purpose: To ensure the safe and efficientdispensing of drugs and to work as an effective and efficient team member.Todispense routine repeats and dispense prescriptions from Doctors consultationsToprint routine repeat prescriptionsTosort out queries over the telephone and at the hatchTopost prescriptions after entering in the Post Book and fax some to appropriateChemist, recording these in the fax bookTo work in accordance with StandardOperating ProceduresToorder drugs from the Wholesaler bulk order monthly and some dailyTocheck incoming drugs and put on shelf checking dates new drugs at the backTo check shelves for out of date drugs andclean shelvesTo and record all dispensed itemsthat are delivered by the wholesalerTo count the money for prescriptionsperiodically and give to the Assistant Practice Manager (Finance)To check all end of the month scriptscount, enter in book and ensure the money balancesTo cover other Dispensers holiday as perrotaTo undertake such other duties that mightreasonably be requiredTolearn and implement new procedures as appropriateGenerally to work together with other staffto ensure the smooth running of the practiceThe duties listed above may change in the light of developments within thepractice and are subject to review.
