Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, supporting patient care, and maintaining efficient pharmacy operations. Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
  • Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution
  • Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage
  • Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
  • Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety regulations
  • Support administrative tasks such as stock management, ordering supplies, and maintaining documentation
  • Assist with care home and MDS dispensing

Skills

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems (Pharmacy Manager PMR System)
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics
  • NVQ2 (or equivalent) qualification in Pharmacy Services is required
