We have received funding via NHSE to develop and pilot a high intensity, specialised MDT Hyper Acute Rehab pathway at UHS led by a Rehab consultant and AHP Lead for patients with complex rehab needs following major trauma or illness. As part of this project, we have the exciting opportunity for a full AHP team to work together on a 12-month secondment at UHS within the Hyper Acute Rehab team. These posts can be full‑time or part‑time and are open to qualified professionals with robust B6 or B7 postgraduate knowledge and experience in acute neurorehabilitation. We are looking to recruit a team encompassing all 4 professions within these senior posts to enable full AHP assessment and treatment of this cohort of complex patients, with a variety of diagnoses, including neurological and orthopaedic needs. The team will be led by an 8a Clinical Specialist and as a B7 you will be expected to support them and deputise in their absence. The team will be part of the wider neurosciences service, with close links to all the neurosciences and relevant clinical teams. You need to have flexibility in hours, supporting the team to deliver patient care across a 5‑day service, which may include bank holidays, on a roster basis. Detailed Responsibilities Provide advanced clinical skills in acute neuro‑rehabilitation, working closely with the dedicated MDT to deliver high intensity, specialised hyper‑acute rehabilitation (HAR) under the direction of a Rehabilitation Medicine consultant, for a moderate number of appropriate UHS patients. Work alongside the B8a Clinical specialist AHP Lead and deputise in their absence. Essential Skills Professional qualification in one of the 4 named professions HCPC registration Advanced, postgraduate clinical skills and experience in acute neuro‑rehabilitation Experience in day‑to‑day team management Knowledge and understanding of NHS systems Clear communication skills, both verbal and written Clear expressed desire and reasons for working in acute rehabilitation, and within UHS, on your application form Enhanced leadership skills to work alongside the multi‑professional team Solid foundation in audit, research, personal and service development Confident educator of staff and peer professionals Desirable Skills Evidence of providing teaching to your own profession and students Management qualification, or equivalent experience Attendance at post‑graduation courses, or conferences, relevant to clinical area Able to demonstrate sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas Experience working in an acute hospital setting Leadership qualification or experience Please Note We do not accept CV applications Interviews will be held in person so we can carry out a practical assessment, please ensure you are able to attend before applying and wear suitable clothing Interviews will be held on Monday 15th December This post may be available as full time or part‑time hours, or as a secondment, please enquire for more details.
