The Role To provide an ESH advisor service to support Projects at AWE and UK Wide. Key Objectives The key for this role is to work as part of an established ESH team supporting work on the framework projects on a client site. Supporting the ESH Manager to ensure the company fulfils its duties, policy objectives and maintains certification to ISO standards Monitoring and reporting on health & safety, performance. Ensuring compliance with the company’s QSHEW system. Co-operating and assisting during any external/3rd party audit. Undertaking and supporting investigations into adverse events. Person Specification Qualifications Qualified to Grad IOSH level or working towards, with a construction bias with a good working knowledge of environmental management systems and related standards – Essential. Good problem solving and analytical skills – Desirable. Membership of appropriate technical / professional body – Desirable. IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent – Relevant training provided if required. Experience & Knowledge Well organised with the ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail - Essential. Routine recording and reporting of information both verbal and numerical - Essential Reception of physical and telephone callers - Desirable. Experience of employment in a customer facing role - Desirable. Familiar with structuring and presentation of own work - Desirable. Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information - Desirable. Familiar with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements etc - Desirable.
