Professional Land Surveyor

Plowman Craven is expanding its presence across North America, and we’re looking for an experienced Professional Land Surveyor or "Land Surveyor 2" to join an already world-class team at the forefront of surveying and geospatial innovation. You’ll work on major, nationwide projects with some of the most advanced tools in the industry; from terrestrial and kinematic laser scanning to HP Siteprint robotics and cutting-edge CAD software. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Establish and manage control networks and closed loop traverses using Total Stations (Leica preferred). Using the control network to carry our laser scanning activities and setting out manually or using HP Siteprint technology. Undertake terrestrial and kinematic laser scanning (NavVis VLX) operations, with a focus on large industrial facilities. Carry out high accuracy setting out, ensuring alignment with project specifications and Statement of Works. Process and interpret survey data using CAD and other geospatial software, delivering accurate and timely outputs. Ensure quality assurance protocols are followed and detailed survey reports are prepared to the highest standards. Coordinate and lead fieldwork activities, including logistics, data collection, and on‑site safety compliance. Provide technical support and updates to project teams and clients, attending meetings as required. Mentor and support junior surveyors, deliver on‑the‑job training and set clear objectives for development. Stay up to date with emerging surveying technologies and apply innovative solutions to project delivery. Assist leadership with estimates and proposals, offering technical solutions to meet client requirements. PERSON SPECIFICATION Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Certified Survey Technician certification preferred. Clean Driving License. Proficient in using surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, laser scanners) and software (AutoCAD, GIS). Willingness to travel and work in different States. Strong analytical skills and diligence to ensure data accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to mentor and upskill junior staff members. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
