Electrical Maintenance Technician / Electrical Craft Technician Permanent role – 37 core hours per week. Salary – up to £42,056 plus overtime and standby (OTE of £6,000 in overtime, standby and callout payments). Locations – Pity Me, Durham, Seaham or Peterlee with travel to sites across the area. Mobile worker with van and fuel card provided. About The Role We are looking to recruit Electrical Technicians to work within Northumbrian Water’s Maintenance team. This could be out of Pity Me, Seaham or Peterlee. No two days are the same, and you will have unique opportunities to use your expertise in both fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance to improve plant availability. At Northumbrian Water Group we have a diverse range of equipment allowing us to offer a unique prospect to specialise in areas such as PLCs, telemetry, level control and variable speed drives. You will be a fully mobile worker and will be provided with a van, starting and finishing your working day from home. All tools and equipment are provided to support Technicians to minimise plant down time. The role requires participation in an out‑of‑hours standby rota. We will ensure that you have the relevant training and experience required to do this. Additional payments are made for standby, callouts and any additional hours worked. About You You will be a time‑served Electrical Technician educated to at least ONC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. You will have a maintenance background in reactive breakdowns and planned work, and you will manage your time efficiently with minimal supervision. You will have experience in reading and finding faults from electrical drawings, identifying the source and replacing faulty components. We are looking for candidates with a can‑do attitude, willingness to learn and explore new ways of working. A hands‑on practical approach and keen eye for identifying the root cause whilst investigating problems and implementing solutions is essential in this role. You’ll have excellent communication skills and be a team player. A strong Health and Safety ethic is an important part of our Everybody Home Safe Everyday culture. A full, UK manual driving licence is essential for this role. What We Will Give You You will have the potential to receive payment for up to four Technical Modules (£1,500 per module per year), with an expectation that each Technician will achieve a minimum of two modules within three years.
