About the role In this role you will lead the financial impact assessments of Connections Reform processes and changes within the Finance, Fees and Securities (FF&S) team. You will manage the impacted changes through collaboration across the programme, with industry partners and the CFO, and oversee the Final Sums Exploration process with the transmission owners. Key accountabilities Perform scenario planning to model potential financial outcomes and inform strategic discussions. Translate numbers into actionable insights, including options and recommendations for decision‑makers. Collaborate with the Connections Reform team, CFO, and regulatory teams through fact‑based analysis, acting as a trusted advisor on financial implications. Monitor financial risk indicators, identify emerging threats, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, financial reporting and data security. Escalate and present key areas of risk and concern regarding financial impacts. Create board‑level papers, including options and recommendations, to ensure decisions are well‑informed and aligned with strategic goals. Stay aware of political, economic and social developments that may impact NESO and the Connections Team. Represent NESO in working sessions with Ofgem and the transmission owners. Gather input from across NESO to determine positions and provide recommendations to leadership for timely decision‑making and risk management. About you Passionate about the energy transition, finance and protecting consumers. Experience in collaboration and cross‑industry negotiation; experience in code‑policy and finance is a plus. Solid experience using data‑driven analysis to form an opinion. Strong communication skills with excellent oral presentation and writing abilities. About What You’ll Get A competitive salary of £60,000 – £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus a bonus of up to 15% of salary. Other benefits include 28 days annual leave, a contributory pension scheme where we double match up to 12% of your contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package that supports well‑being and professional success.
