Senior Care Assistant Night Shift - Burscough Manor Care Home Salary: £14.45 per hour Hours: Either 33 hours per week (3 shifts) or 44 hours per week (4 shifts), depending on preference. Night shifts: 8pm‑8am on a rolling rota, including some weekend working. Welcome Bonus: £500 upon joining. Burscough Manor is a purpose‑built, 80‑bed care home offering specialist services including complex care, dementia care, palliative care, and general residential and nursing care. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our night team. This role offers a leadership position during night shifts, ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care and support throughout the night. Responsibilities Support residents with personal care, hygiene, and comfort during the night. Provide emotional reassurance and companionship as needed. Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes or concerns. Maintain accurate records and ensure handovers are clear and thorough. Lead and support night staff, including supervision and guidance. Assist with staff appraisals, training, and liaising with healthcare professionals. Ensure the home remains calm, safe, and well‑managed overnight. Qualifications and Experience Supervisory or leadership experience in a residential or nursing home setting. A warm, professional approach with a positive attitude. Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it). Confidence in using care systems and maintaining accurate records. Ability to remain calm and lead effectively under pressure. Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends on a rota basis.
