About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the educational and social development of pupils with special educational needs. Working under the direction of the SENCo and teaching staff, you will provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups, helping them achieve targets and fully participate in classroom activities. You will assist in implementing Individual Education Plans, collaborate with professionals such as speech and occupational therapists, and help maintain accurate pupil records. Your responsibilities will also include preparing classrooms, creating engaging displays, and supporting teachers with administrative tasks. This is a rewarding role where you will inspire confidence, promote inclusion, and contribute to the school’s ethos of continuous improvement. This a permanent, part‑time, term‑time only role. You have strong communication skills and can work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues. You are proactive, creative, and able to adapt to a busy and varied schedule. Experience in a similar setting and a qualification as a teaching assistant or teacher is essential.
