Join to apply for the Senior Staff Nurse (BAND 6) – GHOPD role at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. This is a part‑time, permanent position with no night shifts or weekends. The role is based in the Private Patient Outpatient and Supportive Infusion Unit at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea. Required: First‑level registered nurse with demonstrable oncology experience and proficiency in IV medication and chemotherapy administration. Intravenous cannulation and venepuncture skills are desirable; full training will be provided. Excellent communication skills, reliability, enthusiasm and teamwork are essential. Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑led care. Exercise clinical judgment and decision‑making regarding patient needs and long‑term goals. Participate fully in the day‑to‑day organisation and running of clinical trials, including recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants and liaison with trial sponsors. Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered in accordance with the NMC code of conduct. Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff. Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators. Be aware of hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health‑care professionals to ensure their observance. Help foster a supportive working environment and maintain staff morale. The post holder will assist the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in the management of the clinical environment and in shift management. At the Senior Staff Nurse level, the post holder is responsible for the development and management of a team of employees under the supervision of the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse.
