Project, Partnership and Engagement Manager Join to apply for the Project, Partnership and Engagement Manager role at Sangat Television Position Title: Project, Partnership and Engagement Manager Contract Type: Fixed-Term (15 Months) Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location: Birmingham Closing Date for Applications: 24th December 2025 @5pm Job Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Project, Partnership and Engagement Manager to oversee the delivery of an exciting Sikh Oral History and Musical Instrument Repair Programme. Supported by The Heritage Fund, this programme seeks to document and promote the significance of Sikh cultural heritage, particularly its musical traditions. The successful candidate will manage the recruitment of participants, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure effective project delivery. The role requires a dynamic individual with experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and people and persons management. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Management & Delivery Plan and Coordinate: Lead the development and execution of the Sikh Oral History and Music Repair Programme, ensuring the project meets its objectives, is delivered on time, and within the approved budget. Ensure Timely Delivery: Oversee the full project lifecycle, from planning to completion, including setting and meeting deadlines, managing resources, and solving problems as they arise. Monitor and Report: Regularly monitor the progress of the project, providing updates and reports to senior management, funders, and stakeholders. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track. 2. Stakeholder Engagement, Volunteer Management & Relationship Building Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Recruit, onboard and engage a group of at least 20 volunteers across Oral History and Instrument Repair cohorts, ensuring best practice in volunteer management and support. Ensure diversity and inclusivity. Build Relationships: Cultivate and maintain successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Sikh community leaders, local cultural organisations, historians, musicians, educational institutions, and community groups. Partner Collaboration: Work with community partners and collaborators to ensure that the programme's content is culturally relevant, inclusive, and impactful. Regular Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all external partners, maintaining clear and open lines of communication throughout the project. 3. Partnership Development & Networking Create Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with local, national, and international organisations that align with the project's goals. Collaborate on Outreach: Work with partners to promote the programme, ensuring its wide reach and visibility within the Sikh community and beyond. Secure Resources: Leverage partnerships to secure additional resources, support, or funding for the project where possible. 4. Programme Promotion & Public Engagement Raise Awareness: Create and implement strategies for promoting the programme to wider public, including social media campaigns, newsletters, and outreach to key cultural and educational institutions through volunteer and stakeholder networks. Event Planning: Plan and execute public events, workshops, and presentations related to the project, ensuring community involvement and programme visibility. Representation: Represent the project at key events, forums, and meetings, advocating for the importance of Sikh cultural heritage and the programme’s objectives. 5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Track Outcomes: Monitor the success of the programme, measuring its impact based on pre-set objectives and KPIs. Evaluation: Conduct evaluations throughout and at the end of the project to assess the effectiveness of engagement strategies, project delivery, and participant satisfaction. Reporting: Provide comprehensive reports detailing the progress of the project, the outcomes achieved, and the lessons learned to senior management and funders. 6. Financial Management & Budget Oversight Budget Management: Assist in the management of the project’s budget, ensuring that funds are used effectively and efficiently. Cost Control: Monitor expenditures, track project-related costs, and report on financial status to ensure the programme stays within budget. Funding Proposals: Assist in preparing proposals or reports to secure additional funding or sponsors for the project. 7. Other Carry out all job duties in accordance with the Data Protection Act, the Health & Safety at Work Act, and other relevant legislation, as well as all Sangat Television policies and procedures. Essential Skills and Experience Project Management Experience: At least 3-5 years’ experience in project management and delivery, particularly in community engagement, cultural programming, or heritage projects. Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with community members, cultural organisations, and external stakeholders. People and Volunteer Management: At least 3-5 years’ experience effectively managing people, with awareness of the unique demands around recruiting, onboarding and managing volunteer project participants. Cultural Knowledge: A strong understanding and appreciation of Sikh culture, history, and music. Experience working within or with Sikh communities is highly desirable. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, deliver presentations, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, collaborate with colleagues, and coordinate with external partners. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and adapt to challenges as they arise, ensuring projects stay on track. IT Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana), and social media platforms. Heritage Conservation: Interest or experience in the conservation of cultural and musical heritage, including object-level conservation practices, archive management and oral history capture. Event Planning: Experience in organising and managing community events, workshops, or public programmes. Language Skills: Proficiency in Punjabi (spoken and written) is desirable, as it would support communication with participants and communities.
