If you are an experienced nurse looking to apply your clinical expertise in a dynamic and rewarding legal setting, this role is for you.Main responsibilitiesReview medical records and other documentation relevant to the caseSort and categorize medical recordsPrepare Opinion of Merit (OOM) and chronology to assist the legal team with investigations and assessment of prospects, including breach of duty and causationPrepare paginations in paperless format, including light/selective focused, date ranged, full and updated paginations, and work with evolving IT tools, including AI toolsConduct necessary medico-legal research and understand any relevant professional guidelinesDemonstrate good understanding of GDPR to identify issues within medical recordsProgress towards Risk Assessment 1s as appropriateEssential Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in NHS practice / clinical setting as a registered nurseHigh level of accuracy in work outputAbility to learn and adapt to new working environmentsStrong analytical skillsExcellent communication skills with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work within a team both remotely and in personHighly motivated, organized, and proactiveAbility to work under pressure while maintaining high standardsWorking knowledge of audits and interpreting findings to improve/maintain practiceBasic understanding of medical recordsExperience using Microsoft Office packagesIn Return We Offer35 hours working weekAnnual bonus scheme35 days holiday per year including bank holidays and Christmas Closure; option to purchase up to 3 extra days per year (subject to long service awards after 5th, 7th, and 9th year)Pension scheme with tax-efficient salary sacrifice optionLife Assurance PolicyMedicash policy covering dental, optical and other medical expensesCompany sick payEnhanced Maternity, Paternity and IVF schemesA dedicated Learning and Development team for your growthFlexible, agile working environment with a positive work-life balanceCalendar of funded company social eventsMonthly voucher awards for winning nomineesAbout Medical Law Services – MLSOur MLS teams deliver trusted support to the personal injury and clinical negligence sector.
