Senior Development Planner – Development Services Team We are seeking a Senior Development Planner with at least 3 years’ experience in statutory and/or strategic planning to join our Development Services team. You will manage a range of complex development proposals, including Local Structure Plans, subdivisions and major development applications, in order to achieve great outcomes for our Shire, and share your expertise and enthusiasm to help develop our team’s capabilities. Responsibilities Manage a range of complex development proposals, including Local Structure Plans, subdivisions and major development applications. Review the Shire’s Local Heritage Survey. Administer and review the Shire’s Developer Contribution Plan. Play a strategic role in the Shire’s Integrated Growth Framework and Place Planning. Base annual salary from $85,489 – $95,481 per annum, dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications. Annual leave loading of 17.5%. Up to 14% Shire superannuation contribution. Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning, or relevant equivalent. Previous planning experience in statutory processes examining and processing subdivision and development applications, structure plans and town planning scheme amendments in relation to urban and rural land use issues. Strong research and evaluation skills. Strong report‑writing skills. Strong computer skills in MS Office. Exposure to multidisciplinary environments of building construction, public health, environmental management and engineering related to the local government planning process. Working knowledge of town planning legislation and other relevant legislation. C Class Driver’s Licence. Experience in the application of WA planning legislation and local government processes is highly regarded.
