Learning Disability Support Worker – LD Provider Services Join to apply for the Learning Disability Support Worker – LD Provider Services role at City of York Council. We are looking for caring, compassionate and hands‑on people to join our team working at Pine trees, James Backhouse Place, Holgate, York, a day centre for adults with a learning/physical disability and/or autism. The role delivers person‑centred, strength‑based care and promotes independence and choice in daily activities. The position is responsible, varied and extremely rewarding. You will need good organisational skills, ability to work as part of a team and to use your own initiative. Responsibilities Support service users with complex health needs Coordinate activities Provide physiotherapy exercises with customers Assist in hydro‑pool sessions Deliver personal care Assist with medication Move and position users Support wheelchair users Act as a key worker and actively participate in person‑centred care planning; instigate and review care plans, paperwork, guidelines and risk assessments Qualifications & Experience Care experience (family or professional) desirable but not essential; Care Certificate training will be available. Opportunity to work towards Level 2/3 qualification in care if not already held. Competency in communication and guidance to the public, in spoken English at CEFR level C2. Enhanced Criminal Record check via Disclosure and Barring Service required.
