Social Worker – Learning Disabilities - Adult Social Care Join to apply for the Social Worker – Learning Disabilities - Adult Social Care role at City of York Council It’s an exciting time to be a social worker in the Learning Disability, Preparing for Adulthood and Autism Team Could you bring your experience and passion for improving outcomes for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism in the City of York? York Adult Learning Disability, Autism and Preparing for Adulthood Team support adults, families and informal carers who live in the city to live as an enjoyable and independent life as possible. We work in a strength-based way to listen to and empower individuals, identify their outcomes and explore ways of using their own strengths, informal networks and sometimes statutory services to help them achieve their goals. We work with a wide variety of people with varying support needs so every day is different We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and creative to make a difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism. This will include working with professionals from health, education and other professional networks and considering a range of options to help meet their care act eligible needs. In order to apply you will need a degree in Social Work and also be registered, or planning to register with Social Work England (SWE) to apply. We are not currently licenced to sponsor employees for visas, therefore are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language. Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
