We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities/Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The hours of work will be 2:30pm to 10pm Monday to Friday during term time, and 7:30am to 3pm or 11am to 6:30pm (as advised) Monday to Friday during School holiday periods.The Premises/Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for performing various tasks, adhering to health and safety standards, and contributing to the overall upkeep and security of the school.DutiesEnsure school security, including opening and closing the school each day.Ensure premises are secure, wind and water tight at all times and grounds are clean and safe.Operate heating, lighting and ventilation systems.Set out and prepare functions/rooms/halls as required for lunches, clubs and other events.Provide assistance to and supervision of evening lets, including clearing up after lets.Carry out fire alarm testing and assist with emergency evacuation drills.Carry out general maintenance tasks, basic joinery, painting, and replacement of items such as ceiling tiles as required.Carry out general building works such as masonry pointing.Carry out gardening work, gutter cleaning and snow clearing.Carry out portable appliance testing (training provided).Carry out emergency cleaning if required.Collect and distribute mail.Carry out porter duties.Drive the school minibus as required (if correct licence is held).SkillsPrevious experience is preferred but not essential.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.Good time management skills with the ability to work independently.Physical stamina to perform tasks throughout the shift.Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to janitorial practices is an advantage.Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.Job TypeFull-timeBenefitsCompany pensionFree parkingExperienceMaintenance: 1 year (preferred)Licence/CertificationDriving licence (required)LocationGlasgow #J-18808-Ljbffr
