Job SummarySenior Practitioner – Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychological Practitioner/Professional to work in the Northants Personality Disorder Hub. This part‑time (up to 22.5 hours) Band 7 appointment is part of an outstanding NHS Trust committed to reducing stigma, fostering optimism about recovery, and expanding evidence‑based interventions.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver 1:1 and group Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) sessions.Co‑facilitate Structured Clinical Management (SCM) group sessions, and support colleagues through peer supervision, training, and guidance.Develop formulation‑driven care plans in collaboration with service users, colleagues, and other professionals.Provide training to staff, service users, carers, and experts by experience, co‑developing and delivering programmes as required.Contribute to service development projects and broader organisational improvement initiatives.Qualifications & ExperienceRecognised qualification in a core mental health profession (psychiatric nursing, social work, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, or equivalent).Sustained experience in a mental health setting, ideally with therapeutic work with individuals with significant personality difficulties.Clinical experience in psychosocial assessment, formulation and treatment across diverse care environments.Capacity to maintain professionalism in emotionally challenging situations, including verbal abuse, self‑harm and potential aggression.Evidence of continuing professional development and policy contribution.Essential Knowledge & SkillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, including preparation of reports and proposals.Ability to manage intense emotions and distressing material, maintaining personal psychological well‑being.Competence in engaging with multidisciplinary teams, extending understanding of personality disorders.Organisational skills and adaptability to high‑pressure, variable environments, including occasional travel across county sites.Desired AttributesPrevious experience with DBT or SCM programmes.Knowledge of relevant legislation impacting the client group and mental health services.Experience of, or lived experience with, barriers faced by minoritised groups in accessing mental health services.IT and keyboard proficiency; flexible working willingness.Commitment to Diversity and EqualityThe Personality Disorder Hub strives to provide an equitable, inclusive, and anti‑racist service.
