Role: Assistant Practitioner
Location: Willowbrook House , NN17 1XD
Pay Rate: £12.31 per hour
Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week
About you
We are currently looking for an Assistant Practitioner with a genuine interest and desire to care for adults with mental health needs. Applicants must be compassionate and empathetic to the needs of our services. As a 24-hour service provider, the successful candidates will be expected to work 12-hour shifts including weekends. Candidates with experience is required when applying for this role.
Main duties of the Role:
- Be responsible for the team of staff on shift ensuring that care is given in a safe environment.
- Manage the day-to-day care interventions by ensuring that allocated duties are conducted by other staff.
- Contribute to the prevention and management of untoward incidents by assisting in management contingencies (disruptive behaviour, clinical and medical emergencies)
- Report relevant aspects of resident performance, behaviour, and treatment outcomes to the qualified unit staff.
- Administer medication and managing aspects of medication management in line with the Trust and NMC guidelines and provide accurate feedback of residents needs/response to medication.
- Participate in the induction of new staff members.
- Support Nursing staff and support staff in delivery of care to meet the quality standards expected and to actively contribute to the planning and achievement of care objectives.
Qualifications - Applicants must have the following.
- Minimum Level 3 or above NVQ
- Minimum 1 years' experience as a Senior Carer
- To understand and adhere to the confidential nature of the work.
- Understanding of the roles of individual members of the clinical multi-disciplinary team
