Overview We are recruiting for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Grendon and Springhill near Aylesbury. The position is based in a Category B prison operating as a therapeutic community for approximately 240 men. Oxford Health Foundation Trust Forensic Service is developing and delivering a new integrated model of mental health care for men in prisons across the region. Responsibilities Provide mental health interventions to service users within the prison establishment. Manage a caseload, including assessment, planning, delivery of interventions and review of care of patients within the framework of the multi‑disciplinary team and Care Programme Approach. Work as an integral member of the multi‑disciplinary, multi‑agency team to provide advice and support to primary health care within the prison, and to liaise with and support statutory and non‑statutory agencies. Support the team manager in delivering identified objectives in terms of patient care, staff and service development. Collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team to support others to develop their practice and to promote innovative, compassionate care. Key Information Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work. If you are based outside the UK you must be fully qualified, have already passed your OSCE and possess an NMC pin number. All new starters receive a thorough induction process, both local and Trust‑wide. Appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study. Employees are expected to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to their role. Qualifications & Skills Applicants should be an NMC registered nurse with experience of working in mental health, preferably within forensic services.
