Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3 which includes study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships within mechanical engineering, maintenance, mechatronics and practical machining, in both a practical workshop and classroom environment. The role of lecturer is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential. The key roles of a Lecturer are to deliver excellent teaching, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and to set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential. Key Responsibilities Deliver outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3 in mechanical engineering, maintenance, mechatronics and practical machining. Develop creative resources to inspire outstanding learning. Monitor and track learner progress to promote positive outcomes. Prepare lesson plans, coursework, and assessments. Mark student work and provide constructive feedback. Set SMART targets to enable student progress. Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives. Qualifications & Experience Vocational qualification at Level 3 or above. Relevant teaching qualification and assessor award, or willingness to work towards it. Industry experience in mechanical engineering and related fields. Effective and motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to bring subject to life using practical, theoretical and digital methods. Department Info You will work as part of the curriculum team at Rotherham College and you will also closely work under the direction of our Curriculum Team Leaders. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager and work in collaboration with Technicians, Personal Development Coordinators, Work Placement Officers and other internal departments such as examinations and curriculum administration.
