The Role of Academy Doctor (Casual) Main Accountabilities Ensure any concerns you observe or are raised with you in your role are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels Participate in Academy player review clinics as required Provide medical support to Professional Development Phase (PDP U18 to U21) Youth Development Phase (YDP U12 to U16) and Foundation Phase (FP U9-U12) players as required Support the delivery of clinical excellence as a doctor within the Brentford FC Medical Department to meet the standard required within the English Premier League for the Club Perform assessment and diagnosis of injuries sustained by players in Academy age groups Assist the Lead Academy Doctor and other clinical staff in ensuring that all necessary player medical screening requirements mandated by EPL and EPPP regulations are carried out in a timely fashion Arrange onward referral for appropriate imaging and specialist consultation for Academy players where appropriate in agreement with the clinical team Ensure accurate and detailed records of all medical reviews and actions are kept within the club provided database and are within the expected standards of the GMC Assist in maintaining and updating Emergency Action Plans (EAP) for all Academy match-day sites when required Maintain a record and up to date CPD portfolio as stipulated by the GMC FA and other professional bodies Support player wellbeing mental health and performance initiatives Weekly and Ad-Hoc Provision Club training / matches (by prior arrangement in conjunction with other Club Doctors) including tours which may involve overseas travel Support the Lead Academy Doctor and clinical colleagues in delivering pre-signing medical assessments Assist with pre-season player screening sessions (i.e : cardiac screening bloods cognitive baselines etc) Attend external consultant appointments when requested to do so Assist in the delivery of departmental in-service programmes including practice of on-field trauma scenarios and education sessions In conjunction with the Lead Doctors ensure that all FA Anti-doping and player Whereabouts requirements are complied with Ensure the Clubs legal (and EPL / FA) responsibilities are upheld Support in the checking maintenance and replenishment of emergency and other basic medical equipment Assist in providing telephone triage giving medical advice and undertaking home visits as required for academy players when on duty Match Cover Alongside Academy Physiotherapists provide medical support for Academy matches and tours as per the fixture calendar and as agreed with the Director of Player Health / Lead Academy Doctor Support the Lead Doctors in providing medical support and assisting with arrangements for emergency cover requirements Assist with managing onsite paramedic / trauma team and practices including checking and maintenance of medical equipment to comply with EPL regulations Academy - Offsite Cover Provide regular availability for clinical assessment of players in the Academy Youth Development and Foundation Phase (YDP / FP - U9-16s) as required Support in ensuring all necessary YDP and FP player medical screening requirements mandated by EPL and EPPP regulations are carried out in a timely fashion When on duty act as a contact for players / parents within the Academy YDP and FP regarding illness and injury as required General Club Accountabilities Ensure compliance with all relevant Club policies including health and safety policies and with specific reference to the data regulations.
