About us Established in 1885, Millwall Football Club is one of the most famous football clubs in England. Currently competing in the EFL Championship, they play their home games at The Den, based in South Bermondsey. Role Overview Millwall Football Club is looking to recruit a committed, knowledgeable, self‑motivated Chartered Physiotherapist, Sports Therapist or Sports Rehabilitator to join the Academy Sports Science & Medicine department. The Academy Therapist will provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation for all academy players from U9 to U16, and occasionally support full‑time scholars, within a Category 2 Academy operating under the EPPP system. Key Responsibilities Provide emergency first aid cover during trainings and on matchday Conduct clinical assessment of youth injured players U9s‑U16s prior to games Keep detailed and accurate records of injuries and treatments and upload them on the Football Intelligence Platform Maintain constant communication with coaches, sports scientists and parents regarding players’ injury status and availability Liaise with full‑time academy medical members to update player’s rehabilitation progress Attend and participate in in‑house CPD sessions Promote safeguarding and welfare of children within the academy Person Specification Essential Requirements Chartered physiotherapist, sports therapy or sport rehabilitation degree Basic Life Support or any first aid qualification Driving licence IT literacy skills Desirable Requirements Valid Safeguarding Certification Experience working in professional sport with adolescent population Understanding of the EPPP requirements FA ATMMiF (Level 5), FA ITMMiF (Level 4) or equivalent first aid qualification The Person Flexible working hours and timetable commitment Flexible to cover away fixtures with long travels Experience working in a sporting (football desirable) environment Strong communication skills Alignment with academy values: Attitude, Self‑less, Positive, Integrity, Respect, Excellence From a safeguarding perspective, resilient, self‑aware and open to sharing information How to apply To comply with safer recruitment procedures for the club we are unable to accept CVs.
