OverviewJob title: Senior Mechanical EngineerLocation: Barrow-in-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: £52,647+ depending on experienceWhat you’ll be doingLead the development of solutions to technical issues as a member of a project team, reporting to a Technical Lead and directly to the customer.Developing design solutions based on customer requirements, validating, and verifying through the design process.Review and check design work and technical reports, providing help and direction to less experienced engineers.Carrying out technical analysis and investigations, and preparing reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.Lead and/or support solutions to production and manufacturing technical queries raised by suppliers, internal stakeholders (i.e. Operations Team) and non-conformance reports within required project time frames.Your skills and experiencesEssentials:Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or a high level of experience within an engineering environment, whilst having experience writing and reviewing technical reports and specifications.Design experience in a multi-disciplined, production and/or manufacturing environment, answering technical queries and non-conformance reports. Experience performing structural/stress analysis, and is familiar with product data management (PDM) tools to configuration manage data.Working knowledge of technical office processes, standards and standard instructions (i.e. Business Management System (BMS) and Life Cycle Model (LCM)). Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Desirable:Working experience using CAD software (CREO Parametrics) and PLM software (Teamcenter).Previous production, manufacturing, machining, welding, casting and assembly experience.BenefitsYou’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. Within the Mechanical Engineering team, you may also be involved in supporting technical changes to our existing product portfolio through analysis, concept design and tests and trials.
