Clinical Lead Nurse The closing date is 16 December 2025 An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking, highly motivated, innovative, dedicated and experienced registered Mental Health Practitioner to provide clinical leadership to the initial response service. You will be responsible for providing leadership and ensuring that the care provided is safe, effective and supports service users and carers. You should have at least 2 years’ experience of working as a Band 6 and demonstrate evidence of learning teams & individuals through change. Experience of working within the community Urgent Care pathway is desirable. You should also be able to demonstrate a commitment to supporting service development. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of care that facilitates a positive culture of patient engagement, a commitment to enhance the service user and carer experience and promote an environment that facilitates continued staff professional development. You should be able to demonstrate effective, evidence based care management, risk assessment and leadership skills. You must have the ability to positively influence and adapt to a rapidly developing service that is able to meet the needs of service users and carers. Main duties of the job Undertaking expert assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. Supervising and teaching professionals from the multi-disciplinary teams. Working in partnership with service users, carers and other agencies to ensure effectiveness of outcomes. Providing clinical leadership and support to the Team Manager in ensuring high quality care across the 7 day cycle of care. Provide expert clinical knowledge, expertise and interventions, advice, support and supervision in the Initial response service (IRS) to colleagues, service users and carers. To work in conjunction with the Team Manager to ensure that the budget is being used effectively and identify/review any cost improvements to ensure a high quality service is being delivered. Person Specification Education / Qualifications Registered Nurse with NMC Post‑registration experience and/or evidence of formal courses and training at post graduate diploma level Clinical Supervision Training Knowledge Significant demonstrable post‑qualification experience at Band 6 working in a mental health / specialist inpatient setting or equivalent. Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating specialist programmes of care and risk management plans. Evidence of successful mentoring and/or supervision of junior members of staff including students. Evidence of improving service delivery in line with evidence based practice. Skills Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills. Ability to manage highly stressful and emotive situations. Ability to develop, implement and evaluate specialist programmes of care and risk management plans.
