Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager within the Transport Projects and Programmes team in the Environment and Transport Department. We are looking for someone to help us to improve the management of the Department's capital programme, in particular to develop our governance and risk management, and to manage a small sub-team of staff which provides co-ordination and programme management support for the Department. You will have the vision to identify and develop improvement programmes and projects, and the skills to manage and implement them, making a positive difference to the efficiency of our services and therefore for our residents. We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments. Therefore, wherever possible, we will consider working arrangements that suit an individual's personal circumstances whilst still meeting the needs of the Council. If you would like to discuss the possible flexible working options that might be applicable to this role, please contact the person named below. This may include requests for term-time working, part-time hours, compressed hours, flexible start and finish times, home/remote working, etc. You will have experience of supporting a portfolio of projects with a knowledge of project management principles. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with diverse priorities. In return, you will get a chance to manage and support exciting and innovative projects that will provide the blueprint for how the department works in the future. Qualifications Have experience working in an engineering setting, in relation to design, management, maintenance or administrative processes. Have experience working in a commercial environment and delivering projects and programmes to time, quality and cost. Have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work within tight timescales and to agreed targets. Have excellent communication and presentation skills. Be able to build positive relationships across stakeholders, peers and partners, creating open and transparent relationships based on trust. Have an understanding of confidentiality and be able to communicate with a range of audiences at all levels. You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion. In addition, we also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process. #J-18808-Ljbffr
