Position Overview As an Applebee's Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of day‑to‑day restaurant operations. You are responsible for ensuring guests and staff are passionate about their experience every day, leading by example, solving problems, managing stress, and fostering a positive work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit. Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs. Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff. Ensures guest contact as a priority, with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards. Maintains departmental inventory levels. Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meet company standards by performing line checks. Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands. Maintains effective safety and security programs. Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation. Performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to the General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs. Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates. Promotes Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers. Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems. Participates in the constant development of employees using One‑on‑One and performance documentation, and contributes to the completion of written evaluations. Assesses the efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback on a regular basis, and continuously works with employees on their areas of development. Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective action. Assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures. Responsible for controlling cost in the assigned department. Compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and is accountable for completion. Responsible for preparing and submitting accurate daily paperwork. Assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards. Provides a role model for managers and employees. Develops self on all store related technology. Must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed when in a restaurant, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, and bartending. Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies. Education and Experience At least 2‑3 years of restaurant management experience. Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are also a plus. Physical Standards Work various shifts, including weekends. Stand and exhibit well‑paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours. Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds. Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
