Here at the Mick George Group, we are currently recruiting a Commercial Manager – Waste Services to join the Recycling team.Location: Mick George Head Office – Huntingdon & Field BasedWorking Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, Saturdays as Required.Pay: To be discussed at Interview, dependant on experience.Benefits: Company Pension, Employee Assistance Programme, twenty-eight days annual leave including bank holidays, Company benefits platform, Cycle to work scheme, Company Car.Job Overview:At the Mick George Group, we’re seeking a Commercial Manager – Waste Services to drive new business growth and strengthen our position as a leading provider of Total Waste Management solutions.Covering Huntingdon and the surrounding areas, you’ll build lasting client relationships while delivering tailored waste solutions – from wheelie bins and skips to RoRos, FELs, and recycling services.If you’re a commercially focused, target-driven professional with a passion for sustainability and customer success, this is your opportunity to make a real impact with a market-leading business.Responsibilities:Business Development & SalesProactively generate new business through prospecting, networking, and tenderingAccount Management & RetentionRetain and grow a portfolio of accounts through strong, long-term relationshipsConduct regular account reviews to identify upselling or service expansion opportunitiesProvide ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and contract renewalsMarket & Industry EngagementKeep up-to-date with waste management legislation, recycling trends, and competitor activityAttend industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums to generate leads and raise brand awarenessAdvise customers on best practice in recycling and resource recoveryOperational CollaborationWork closely with operations teams to ensure seamless service deliveryProvide feedback on performance to improve customer experienceContribute to the development of marketing materials and case studies showcasing successful partnershipsCommercial & ReportingMaintain accurate pipeline reports, forecasts, and CRM recordsPrepare and deliver impactful sales presentations and tender submissionsNegotiate contract terms that balance customer value with company profitabilityPromote the full suite of Total Waste Management servicesDevelop tailored proposals that deliver value, compliance, and sustainabilityAssess potential jobs to ensure compliance and obtain waste data for accurate quotingConsistently achieve and exceed sales and revenue targetsSkills & Competencies Required:Proven experience in waste management sales (wheelie bins, FELs, skips, RoRos, commodities) or a related sectorStrong track record of winning, retaining, and growing key accountsExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levelsCommercial acumen, with experience in negotiation and closing dealsA self-motivated, target-driven approach, comfortable working independently and as part of a teamA passion for sustainability and delivering innovative, ethical waste management solutionsCommitment to providing exceptional customer service internally and externallyStrong influencing and relationship-building skillsClear written communication skills, capable of producing high-quality correspondence and reportsFull UK driving licence #J-18808-Ljbffr
