Role title: Commercial/Trading ManagerSalary: CompetitiveLocation: HuntingdonAbout the role:Develop and grow the sales performance within our protein categories on imported global chilled and frozen Beef & Lamb offerings through current customers and developing new customers and supply chains. Working closely with our customers & suppliers to build strong working relationships. Work within a global PLC business. Collaborate with the Operations, Technical, Category, Planning and Commercial teams, taking a leading role in meetings, presentations and visits with our customers and suppliers.As a Commercial/Trading Manager your key accountabilities will be:Manage the interface with the customer and suppliers to create and maintain an enduring relationship and ensure the positive development of the categories.Develop and implement long-term strategic plans in collaboration with the customer and suppliers to deliver sales growth and optimal market performance.Manage and develop NPD to ensure targeted first to market innovation and existing product development to align with consumer trends and customer needs.Collaborate with the Marketing manager to keep up to date with customer and consumer trends and market performance metrics to inform the Commercial strategy.Collaborate with internal commercial teams to support account development and fulfil customer needs.Develop, plan, execute and monitor effective (where & when required) new supply chains.Manage new product development projects internally and with the customers/suppliers.Manage all elements of account administration including budgeting, forecasting, cost price confirmations, new line forms, internal system updates.Provide regular analytics and reporting to monitor product and market performance and make recommendations for the implementation of action plans as required.To succeed as a Commercial/Trading Manager, we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:Strong experience in a Commercial management role.Solid, proven experience of customer and supplier management.Demonstrable experience of successful internal and external stakeholder relationship management.Proven leadership capability with a track record of successfully leading and developing new business.Working knowledge of account management tools and the ability to turn insight into actions.Practical understanding of business accounting and forecasting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to Buy/sell in a compelling way.Ability to build strong working relationships and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.Ability to spot emerging trends and initiatives within the food market.Ability to lead, manage and develop a team to secure their engagement and deliver high performance.Sound understanding of business drivers with the ability to identify technical opportunities to achieve those drivers.Ability to gather and analyse data to identify opportunities and potential risks.Strong commercial acumen.Good knowledge of imported chilled and frozen Global Beef and Lamb, Australian, New Zealand, Southern American.Creates a performance culture where effective performance and continuous improvement is encouraged.Is able to travel globally when required.Full Driving License.A good understanding of all sectors within the UK markets: Manufacturing, Wholesale, Retail & foodservice.Good meat knowledge.Reading markets in supply and demand solutions.Strong Negotiation Skills.Awareness of Global environmental challenges with the protein sector.What you get in return:On top of working for a fantastic organisation with a family feel and state of the art facilities you will receive a great package with competitive holiday allowance, life assurance of minimum two times yearly salary, opportunities for development and internal promotion, Cycle to work scheme, Share save scheme, variety of discounts at well-known retailers as well as gyms and free car parking on site along a subsidised canteen.About us:We are a company that takes pride in their people as it is our people who are at the centre of everything that we do.
