Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology

Position Summary The successful candidate will join our busy team providing a Consultant Ophthalmology service for inpatients, day cases and outpatients, with continuing responsibility for the patients, their care and the effective running of the department. Key Responsibilities Provide a Consultant Ophthalmology service for day cases and outpatients Deliver specialist lacrimal and oculoplastic expertise to serve the local population Participate in the Consultant on call rota (1:8) Carry out teaching duties and engage in the education programme of junior medical staff, nurses and AHPs Supervise and train junior hospital doctors Participate in clinical audit, evidence‑based practice and clinical governance within the department Engage in regional sub‑speciality audit and clinical governance, maintaining continuous professional development (CPD) Keep informed of latest Trust news and events via the Trust’s social media accounts Appointment Details We are looking for an experienced Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology with a specialist interest in Oculoplastic.
