Senior Civil Engineer Reference: CJD221125I | Location: Manchester | Salary: GBP45,000–GBP55,000 (annual) This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded, sustainably-minded multidisciplinary consultancy renowned for lending its expertise to a wide range of projects across the energy and engineering landscapes. The role is for a talented, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a strong background in drainage and highways design, to join an already established team of Water Engineers in Manchester. Benefits Competitive salary Company pension scheme Generous annual leave entitlement Flexible/hybrid working opportunities Focus on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with extensive career progression opportunities Inclusive, collaborative working environment conducive to fresh, innovative thinking Emphasis on maintaining a healthy work‑life balance Responsibilities Produce technical work for a diverse range of projects across the Water Sector Author and check reports and other technical documents Lead design projects, taking ownership from inception to successful delivery Build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors Navigate project delivery aspects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation Provide supervision and support to other colleagues on the Water Team Proactively promote company processes, procedures and regulations, acting as a trusted member of the team Required skills and experience A UK degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering Considerable experience in a design‑based role within a UK‑based consultancy or local authority setting Experience producing drainage strategies and systems, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Demonstrable experience on other infrastructure projects and highways design Good working knowledge of relevant Section Agreements (S104, S106, S38, S278) Proficiency in relevant software systems – Civil 3D, Revit, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, etc. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills Desirable skills and experience Possess Chartered Status (or actively working to achieve it) A UK Masters degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM and Hades software packages Awareness of BS 7671 standards Contact If you are interested in the role of Senior Civil Engineer, please contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
