Female Support Workers / Personal Care Assistants Ref: BRR8754 Location: Lambs Farm Road area of Horsham, Horsham Role: Provide support to a 92‑year‑old woman with mixed dementia, vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. The support will be delivered on a self‑employed basis on various shifts (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Thursdays – tea time and evening, possible overnight and lunchtime shifts). Employment Status: Self‑employed. Drivers licence required: No. Hourly pay: £17.75 per hour. Role Summary This role is to support a woman who is wheelchair bound, can mobilise but no longer walks. She requires assistance with washing, toileting, changing pads, dressing, prompting with eating and drinking, administering medication, mobilisation and transfer. Domestic duties such as meal preparation, cleaning, tidying and laundry are also expected. Responsibilities Medication prompting and administration Personal grooming Eating and drinking assistance Housekeeping (cleaning, tidying, laundry) Cooking Companionship Dressing and undressing support Bathroom assistance Support with mobilisation and transferring Changing pads Candidate Qualities Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality Reliable with good timekeeping Able to follow instructions and work independently Hygienic, tidy and well‑organised Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties Patient with excellent interpersonal skills Honest and cheerful Good spoken and reading English to a reasonable standard Committed to high standards of health & safety Experienced with people with advancing dementia and able to manage behavioural challenges without taking them personally Kind, encouraging and understanding Additional Requirements Non‑smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours Notes All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required. Proof of self‑employed status (contract for your services) and proof of carers insurance must be provided. Enhanced DBS check is mandatory. Own car not essential but may be useful for appointments.
