Personal Wellbeing Advisor Salary: £27,783Contract: Full Time Permanent Location: West Yorkshire – to cover Bradford, Kirklees and HMP Wealstun Rebuilding your life after sentencing is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Personal Well-being Advisor — someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organisation and flexibility. This is for the person who understands that rehabilitation isn’t just about offering advice; it’s about rolling up your sleeves and pro-actively supporting someone on their journey. This is a demanding role; you'll be working in a challenging environment with people who have complex needs and who can be reluctant to engage. But when you help someone break the cycle and you see them take real steps toward transforming their life, it’s a great feeling. About the Role: You will support a caseload of service users in custody and in the community, including those recently released from prison or on suspended sentences and community orders. Working across prisons, community sites and probation offices in West Yorkshire, flexibility is essential. You’ll collaborate with pre-release teams, probation and internal departments to support each person’s progress. While you can often plan your own schedule, you’ll need strong prioritisation skills in this varied and challenging role. What You’ll Be Doing: Assessments and Action Plans: You will complete personal wellbeing assessments and create tailored action plans for each individual you work with. You will guide individuals as per their action plan, helping them reintegrate through practical well-being activities.Collaboration: Your intervention may be part of a wider support package so collaborating with internal and external colleagues is a key part of the role.Caseload Management:You’ll manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while keeping up with all the related admin.Partnership Working: Identify relevant local organisations to enhance the offering to our service users.Quality Recording:Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all your work on our IT systems What We’re Looking For: Relationship Building:You’re able to connect with people at all levels, engaging with key stakeholders within Probation and building relationships with Service Users in a way that’s genuine, promotes a sense of trust and is non-judgemental, with particular attention to confidentiality and maintenance of boundaries.Safeguarding awareness: You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks.IT and Administrative skills: Keeping meticulous records of every interaction to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.Organisation:You can handle a busy caseload and stay on top of detailed records.Resilience:This role can be challenging, and results may take time, but you are the kind of person who stays committed and sees things through. Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires anenhanced DBScheck and HMPPS EL1 vetting.
