About the role As an Art & Design Lecturer, you will deliver engaging lessons across a range of disciplines, including both digital and traditional processes such as 3D design, painting, drawing, illustration, fashion, photography, fine art, and printmaking. You will support learners in achieving their full potential, preparing them for industry briefs, education, and creative careers. Essential Skills & Attributes Excellent subject knowledge in Art & Design Highly motivated with strong organisational and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Outstanding written and oral communication skills Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings Strong administration and IT skills Ability to respond positively and supportively to learners Evidence of continuing professional development Desirable Skills & Attributes Experience working with external agencies, partner organisations, and employers Ability to analyse and interpret data Comprehensive understanding of both digital and traditional Art & Design techniques Qualifications Essential: Degree or professional qualification relevant to Art & Design Teaching qualification GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent Desirable Qualifications Subject specialist qualification at Level 7 or above Assessor and/or Verifier award Experience Essential: Successful teaching experience and/or vocational/industrial experience Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies in Art & Design Strong industry links and employer contacts Desirable Experience Experience embedding English and Maths into curriculum delivery Experience teaching Higher Education Promoting learners' work and showcasing achievement Preparing learners for industry briefs and community projects College Overview Tyne Coast College was created from the merger of South Tyneside College and South Shields Marine School, with TyneMet College and Queen Alexandra Sixth Form.
