The ideal candidate will have experience in sustainability consulting, a deep understanding of human rights, climate, and nature-related issues, and proficiency in key frameworks and regulations such as CSRD, GRI, EUDR, net zero, and deforestation commitments. Additionally, the role requires experience in mentoring junior staff and developing proposals to secure new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities

- ESG Legislation and Due Diligence: Advise clients on navigating national and international environmental regulations, ensuring compliance with standards such as CSRD, EUDR, and GRI.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, delivering tailored sustainability solutions to meet their environmental goals.
- Team Mentoring: Guide internal teams, offering mentorship to junior staff and supporting their professional growth in environmental sustainability.
- Proposal and Budget Creation: Develop project proposals, budgets, and work plans that align with environmental sustainability objectives and client needs.
- Public Speaking and Industry Engagement: Represent Sedex at industry conferences, webinars, and events, sharing insights on environmental sustainability, climate risk, and nature-based solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Consulting Experience: Proven experience in sustainability consulting, including project management, client engagement, and delivering tailored sustainability solutions.
- Business Development: Ability to lead proposal writing, applying a commercial mindset to new business and client solutions. Experience managing project budgets.
- Client Relationship Management: Experience working directly with clients to design and implement tailored sustainability solutions that address sustainability challenges and align with regulatory requirements.
- Strong Sustainability Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability roles, particularly within sustainable sourcing, human rights, climate, or sustainability consulting, with a focus on environmental issues such as climate change mitigation, carbon footprint reduction, and/or biodiversity.
- Experience in Sustainable Supply Chain Programs: Proven expertise in managing and delivering sustainability projects that focus on reducing the environmental impacts of supply chains, including carbon emissions, water usage, waste reduction, and resource management.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines, budgets, and client expectations while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Strong data analysis skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex environmental issues and solutions clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in additional languages (Spanish, French, or German) to support international client needs.
- Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel internationally to engage with clients and stakeholders as required.
