Overview Working in the Orthopedics Out‑Patients department at Goole Hospital, the Band 6 Physiotherapy role involves performing advanced assessments, managing a caseload, supervising trainees, and contributing to service development. Responsibilities Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse orthopedic and complex physical and psychological conditions, using advanced clinical reasoning skills to diagnose and develop individualized treatment programmes. Manage own caseload and a defined area of the service independently, without direct supervision. Supervise, educate and assess physiotherapy students, assistants and Band 5 Physiotherapists, providing specialist advice to other health‑care professionals in the clinical area. Undertake evidence‑based audit and research projects to enhance personal and team clinical practice, and recommend changes to the clinical lead/manager of the service. Lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to the development of service protocols. Formulate and deliver individualized treatment programmes based on assessment outcomes, evidence‑based practice and a range of treatment options including manual therapy, patient education, exercise classes and alternative aids or devices. Qualifications Ideally an experienced Band 6 Therapist with advanced practice skills and a strong record of audit or research.
