Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Legal Counsel for EMEA to support and manage legal operations across the EMEA region. This role will be responsible for providing expert legal guidance across a broad spectrum of legal areas including corporate, commercial, employment, data protection. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risk while enabling business growth. Key Responsibilities Manage all legal matters across the EMEA region ensuring compliance with local and international laws. Provide legal support across corporate, commercial, employment, regulatory, and litigation matters. Lead and support Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities including due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting, and negotiation of transaction documents. Advise on GDPR compliance and data protection strategies, including incident response and privacy impact assessments. Support HR and operational teams on employment law issues including contracts, disputes, and policy development. Provide legal support on commercial and construction-related matters including drafting and negotiating contracts, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance across EMEA. Manage external counsel relationships and legal budgets across the region. Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business. Lead internal training and awareness initiatives on key legal topics. Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Compliance, and Operations teams. Qualifications & Experience Qualified lawyer with a legal degree and admission to practice in at least one EMEA jurisdiction. Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience ideally in a multinational corporate environment or top-tier law firm. Broad legal expertise across corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory law. Strong working knowledge of GDPR and data protection frameworks. Familiarity with health & safety legislation and its application in a corporate setting. Proven ability to manage complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset. Preferred Attributes Industry experience is preferred but not essential. Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach. Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment. Strong leadership and team development capabilities. High ethical standards and sound judgment. Excellent cross‑cultural communication skills with the ability to navigate diverse legal and business environments across EMEA. Deep commercial awareness balancing legal risk with business objectives. Proactive and influential business partner able to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders.
