The shift pattern for this post is Mon‑Fri 08.30‑17.00. We have a vacancy for a Band 6 Therapy Radiographer within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre provides an integrated cancer management and treatment service for patients from the West of Scotland and beyond. Facilities are situated in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre on the Gartnavel Hospitals site. Approximately 6,500 courses of radiotherapy are provided annually requiring over 100,000 patient attendances. The Radiotherapy Department is equipped with the most up‑to‑date facilities currently available which include 11 Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, 3 CT scanners, Advantage Windows Virtual Simulation system, Eclipse planning system and all are networked via the ARIA Radiotherapy Management System. Responsibilities: The post-holder will be responsible for accurate planning, calculation and delivery of radiation treatment. The post-holder is also responsible for the maintenance of accurate records for each patient. The post holder will be required to rotate through specialist areas such as pre‑treatment, CT simulator and all treatment machines of the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre providing a highly specialised clinical service to patients suffering with cancer. With supervision from the Band 7 radiographer, he/she will assist in the day‑to‑day operation of a treatment unit, CT simulator or other area of the department. During breaks, meetings etc he/she will manage the area.
