Permanent, full‑time position. Location: Great Western Hospital, Marlborough Road, Swindon SN3 6BB. Job Responsibilities Use the pathology IT system (Winpath) to input and retrieve information concerning patients and specimens, maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Produce accurately typed and formatted Cellular Pathology reports from handwritten or audio dictation, using template reports where available. Reports are confidential and may be of a sensitive nature. Accurately upload reports from external providers to Winpath, including copy‑typing hard copies or copy‑and‑pasting electronic reports and formatting to match Cellular Pathology report templates. Type letters and other correspondence for Cellular Pathology medical staff. Print Cellular Pathology reports when necessary, for distribution via post or email. Person Specification Essential GCSE grade C or above in English, or equivalent. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Previous secretarial/administrative experience. Desirable European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). Secretarial qualification. Administration qualification. RSA2 or equivalent in keyboard skills. Previous experience working within pathology. Previous experience working in a hospital. Knowledge of pathology‑specific medical terminology. Experience with Microsoft Office packages, especially Word and Excel. Customer services experience.
