Training and mentorship responsibilities for junior staff, BMS trainees, and apprentices to develop the team and enhance service delivery. Role Responsibilities Dissection of RCPath A‑E specimens. Lead a team of BMS staff, expanding the repertoire and upskilling the team to deliver a top‑class service. Opportunity to develop expertise in FISH enumeration, ER/PR/Her2, and MMR reporting. Requires a hands‑on approach to service development and operational excellence, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care. Additional Opportunities Laboratory management exposure: gain insight into managing a private laboratory, balancing the needs of customers, patients, staff, and stakeholders. Career progression: annual salary reviews linked to personal objectives, ensuring ongoing career development. Qualifications HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist. DEP desirable. A minimum of 4 years of experience at band 6 or 7 level, ideally in histopathology with a strong background in histological dissection. Willingness to train in specialised reporting areas (e.g., FISH, ER/PR/Her2, MMR). A proactive attitude toward training and mentoring junior staff and contributing to service development. Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset. Working Days This is a full‑time position, 37.5 hours over 5 days between Monday and Saturday.
