The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of clients through personalised care and attention. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives while developing valuable skills within the healthcare sector. Responsibilities Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility. Support clients with medication administration in accordance with prescribed protocols. Assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary requirements are met. Manage behaviour effectively and compassionately, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer’s care. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to senior staff. Support clients with activities of daily living while promoting independence where possible. Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary. Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments. Knowledge of patient care techniques, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, hospice support, and behaviour management strategies. Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards seniors and vulnerable individuals. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility tasks. Excellent organisational skills for managing multiple clients’ needs efficiently. Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties. First aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided. Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Reliable, patient‑focused, and able to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
