Consultant Psychiatrist - Bolton - General Adult Inpatient Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work at the Bolton Mental Health Unit, located in the Rivington Unit at Royal Bolton Hospital. The post holder will act as the Responsible Clinician for up to 20 inpatients, both informal and detained, within the South Bolton catchment area, with occasional out‑of‑catchment placements. Job Summary Provide clinical leadership for the ward team and trainees. The post manages 23 beds and admits patients from across the Trust's catchment. Conduct regular ward reviews and rounds, supporting the team to complete Competence and Performance Assessments (CPA). Undertake assessments of admissions to the service. Assist the team to diagnose and formulate management plans for all presentations. Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, health and safety risk, and risk of harm to others. Coordinate care with pharmacists, occupational therapists, psychology staff, and external partners. Prepare Mental Health Review Tribunal and Manager's Hearing reports, and attend subsequent hearings. Prepare consent to treatment paperwork and other Mental Health Act (MHA) work, such as Section 17 leave, Section renewals, and Community Treatment Orders (CTOs). Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner psychiatrists, including Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists.
