Mobile Electrician – Merseyside Fire & Rescue Services Role Permanent full‑time position (40 hours per week) based in Liverpool. Competitive salary and benefits package offered. General Overview As a proven LV Authorised 18th edition qualified Electrical Technician, you will work with a strong operational team to maintain, develop and improve the electrical systems across the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service estate. Responsibilities Maintain plant and equipment to agreed specifications and operation Develop in‑depth knowledge of relevant individual contracts Ensure paperwork is up to date and correctly completed Close all jobs promptly and safely Carry out planned maintenance for all contractual obligations Implement Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and issue relevant working permits Perform repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant Diagnose and repair faults with due regard to customer care in a specific fire‑rescue environment Monitor plant proactively to ensure efficient utilisation Interrogate operational information systems to support daily operations and fault diagnosis Complete relevant paperwork and reports diligently Undertake additional duties as required, including those outside normal working hours Attend any necessary training to perform duties effectively Complexity Maintain documentation and records to the highest standard Understand contracts and obligations Achieve qualification as Authorised, Responsible and Competent Person for systems as required Project a professional image of EQUANS to external and internal customers, including clear communication channels Perform tasks directed by line management Operate in accordance with best practice, equal opportunities, diversity, and respect for others Place highest importance on EQUANS health and safety policies and procedures Abide by EQUANS policies and procedures Consistently represent EQUANS professionally Qualifications or Required Experience Full, clean UK driving licence NVQ Level 3 Technical Certificate with NET AM2 certificate Previous experience supervising a team Ability to work to tight deadlines and proactively manage workload IT literacy – proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Ability to think clearly in extreme circumstances Experience using a CAFM system Strong track record in facilities management Good knowledge of building services and legislation What we offer Competitive salary and benefits package 24 days annual leave (increases to 25 after 1 year, plus public holidays) Life cover equivalent to 1.5 times annual salary Employee discount schemes on major brands and retailers Gym membership discounts Cycle‑to‑work scheme Holiday purchase scheme 2 corporate social responsibility days per year Broad range of learning opportunities and professional qualifications support Employee referral rewards scheme Access to growing employee networks (WiE, RISE, LGBTQI+, Working Parents, YPN, Disability Network) 24/7 Employee Assistance Program and mental wellbeing app Next Steps If you are interested in this role, please apply through the channel provided.
