Graduate Electrical ICA Design Engineer Costain Group PLC invites applications for a Graduate Electrical ICA Design Engineer based in Falmer, Brighton. CMDP is a joint venture between Costain and MWH Treatment. CMDP+ will deliver critical investment to water and wastewater infrastructure across the region from 2025‑2030. Graduate Development Programme The programme focuses on personal and leadership growth, business acumen and technical skills gained day‑to‑day on the job. Over two years, graduates will rotate after 8‑12 months to another project or sector to understand the breadth of services offered by the company. Support includes mentoring, structured training and opportunities to work toward Chartership. Extra Information Some roles may require a security clearance of at least Security Check level (or SC clearance). Applicants must be UK residents for at least 5 years and complete the vetting process. Responsibilities Produce outline electrical, instrumentation and control design on contracts. Assist with design documents that are cost‑effective and meet specification requirements. Support delivery of design and assessment in a multi‑discipline environment. Prepare design risk assessments. Maintain files and records throughout contract duration. Produce clear and well‑presented reports, specifications, and other engineering documentation. Engage fully with the Costain professional development scheme to achieve qualification within 3‑4 years. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Relevant work experience in the engineering sector. Passion for Costain’s Carbon Net Zero targets. IT proficiency. Accurate and detail‑oriented work. Willingness to learn with appropriate instruction. Excellent relationship building and communication skills. Ability to thrive under pressure. Empathy and inclusive communication. Excellent organisation, communication, and time‑management skills. Mobility to work on various projects across the UK throughout the two‑year programme. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or on track to achieve). Full UK driving licence; ability to travel to office and sites, including remote locations. Flexibility to work at various offices and sites. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self‑motivated, proactive attitude. Passport and right‑to‑work documents ready for interview.
