Description Are you an experienced End User Computing professional with a passion for leadership and a deep technical expertise in EUC technologies Social Security Scotland is seeking a dedicated Lead End User Computing Engineer to join our Chief Digital Office. In this pivotal role you will lead a small team of EUC specialists driving operational excellence and ensuring a seamless secure and efficient user experience for over 4000 colleagues across multiple devices and platforms. A Lead End User Computing Engineer has expert technical understanding and is accountable for vendor and supplier management. At this level you will work with relevant IT operations and other functions such as technical architecture to understand lower level productivity development and feasibility. Responsibilities Manage the Mobile Device Management solutions (e.g. JAMF Intune SCCM) ensuring secure configuration accurate asset tracking and proper control of IT assets across key areas. Oversee high-impact complex change requests ensuring release policies procedures and processes are followed. Lead incident investigations and problem resolution within EUC and JAMF environments proactively identifying and addressing potential issues to deliver excellent user outcomes. Analyse patterns and trends to improve services collaborating with specialists as needed and implementing preventative measures. Develop and maintain procedures documentation and reports providing insightful commentary and ensuring standards for object security and integrity. Apply ITIL best practices to manage service lifecycle including planning testing and continuous improvement initiatives. Set and uphold technical standards coordinate system and acceptance testing and offer authoritative guidance on test planning. Identify opportunities for process optimisation contribute to best practice development and champion user research to understand and prioritise user needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements and recommend appropriate tools and methods to enhance EUC services. You possess strong technical expertise in JAMF ideally holding a JAMF 300 certification with proven experience in leading a team and taking responsibility for investigating and resolving complex or high-impact incidents. You serve as an effective senior-level interface between users and service providers. 2. With a customer-focused approach you have actively contributed to identifying and implementing service and process improvements consistently promoting best practices across your teams service portfolio. Technical skills This role is aligned to Lead End User Computing Engineer within the Digital Data and Technology Profession. These skills will be tested during the Technical Assessment if you are successful at sift stage. They will be not be assessed at application stage. The interview will further assess the Experience and Behaviours listed in the job advert and the technical assessment will evaluate the technical skills relevant to the role. Candidates who pass the sift and are invited to the Interview and Technical Assessment stage will receive a Technical Assessment Candidate Pack which will outline the skills to be assessed and the assessment methods to be used. Following the application sift there may be a telephone interview as part of the assessment process before the main interview. We aim to provide feedback on request. DDaT Pay Supplement This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital Data and Technology (DDAT) profession and as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system. This post currently attracts a 5000 annual DDAT pay supplement applicable after a 3 months competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded. Working pattern Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices.
