The primary purpose is to provide irrigation system management for the entire campus, including roadway medians and athletic fields, and to assist in the implementation of a turf care program. Duties include: Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining the campus irrigation network, including pumps, motors, controllers, and sprinkler systems. Managing inventory of irrigation equipment and reporting needs to the Grounds Manager. Creating and maintaining as‑built documentation for existing systems. Assisting with system reviews, project scopes, and new system installations in collaboration with Facilities Planning, Design & Construction. Planning and executing seasonal system start‑ups and winterization procedures. Coordinating operation of irrigation systems with campus events and schedules. Operating heavy equipment and handling large quantities of grounds‑related supplies. Performing routine grounds maintenance with mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, sprayers, and spreaders. Reporting equipment issues and performing “trash police” duties each morning. Qualifications and Experience Management Preference: Five to seven years of directly related experience.
