They are responsible for the management of the onsite programme in respect of delivery, workmanship and safety. The General Foreman ensures that adequate and proper labour, plant, materials and subcontractor's resources are available to meet the requirements of the contract and in line with company policies.John Sisk & Son have been building excellence as a family-owned international construction company by offering trust, certainty and value to our clients whilst being at the heart of change.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and monitor key stage programmesSet up the site and maintain site security (Maintain site hutting, hoardings and signboards to present a tidy and professional appearance)Take possession of the site, plan and coordinate trades activitiesApply for temporary service connectionsInterpret drawings and specification and communicate directions to site personnel, Subcontractors and suppliersEnsure that adequate method statements and risk assessments (RAs) are completed for high-risk activitiesRequest outstanding information from the professional team and confirm all verbal instructionsAssist with ensuring all necessary approvals are in place to allow project to progress without risk (E.g. Hording Licence)Review buildability and identify methods of construction with commercial or programme advantage where possibleWith the Environmental Co-ordinator implement the environmental controls and work towards the objectives set out in the HSE plan (Civils)Attend site meetings, subcontract and internal meetings - maintain and circulate notes and action pointsRequirementsGood Written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate with colleagues, clients and third parties, in a warm and persuasive way both formally and informally and able to alter style and method to suit audienceA proven track record of least ten years within a construction management environment with a similar National/Regional ContractorStrong analytical skillsOrganised with good time management and capable of proactive planningFirst Aid at work certificate.IOSH or equivalent H&S management trainingTemporary Works & Excavation SafetyPermitting requirements for live energy works (Must be in conjunction with Site & Safety Management)Working at Heights & ScaffoldingLifting & Cranage operationsOther HSEQS training as per site HSE planBenefitsCompetitive SalaryCompany Car or Car Allowance26 days holiday (option to purchase 5 more)Employer pensionCompetitive mileage rateTravel expensesFlexible and remote workingEnhanced parental leaveProfessional and Educational developmentAt Sisk we are committed to attracting and hiring diverse talent into our organisation.
